John Brown has been reappointed for a second term as dean of the University of Calgary’s school of architecture, planning and landscape. Dr. Brown began his first term in 2018 after having been an academic staff member for more than 30 years, and serving as interim dean and associate dean, research and international. Dr. Brown is a registered architect and holds a PhD from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.


Sandra Davidson has been reappointed dean of University of Calgary’s faculty of nursing. Dr. Davidson led the faculty in the areas of programming, operational efficiencies, community relationships and research growth. Previously, Dr. Davidson was associate dean of undergraduate programs in the faculty of nursing at the University of Alberta.

Priscilla Settee, an Indigenous studies professor emerita at the University of Saskatchewan, has been appointed acting vice-dean Indigenous for the school’s college of arts and science. Dr. Settee is Swampy Cree and a member of the Cumberland House First Nation. She is an award-winning researcher with a focus on Indigenous food sovereignty, the impact of climate change, Indigenous knowledge and social economies. Dr. Settee earned a PhD and a bachelor of education from the U of S, a master’s degree in education from the University of Manitoba and a bachelor of arts from the University of Guelph.
