Matina Kalcounis-Rueppell University of Alberta

The University of Alberta appointed Matina Kalcounis-Rueppell dean of the faculty of science, the first woman to hold the role. Dr. Kalcounis-Rueppell is returning to her home province of Alberta after serving as department head of biology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a passionate advocate of community engagement and of the importance of wildlife conservation.
