Penny Pexman has been named Western University’s new vice-president, research, starting Sept. 1. She is currently associate vice-president, research, at the University of Calgary, where she is also a professor of psychology. Dr. Pexman is a co-founder of Women in Cognitive Science Canada.
Zena Mitchell has been named vice-president, students, at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Ms. Mitchell began her career at KPU as a marketing assistant. She has held various positions at the university, including associate vice‑president, enrolment services and registrar.
Brian Power has been reappointed for a second five-year term as Brock University’s vice-provost and associate vice-president, academic. He was associate dean of the faculty of humanities for six years before taking on his current role in 2018. Dr. Power is a former chair of Brock’s department of music, an accomplished tenor and violinist.
Marisa Modeski has been appointed Western University registrar. Ms. Modeski was previously the director and associate registrar of admissions and student recruitment at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where she helped develop UTM’s strategic enrolment management plan.
