University of Lethbridge
The University of Lethbridge is hiring a tenure track Assistant Professor to teach core and senior level courses in our Bachelor of Arts, Women and Gender Studies [WGST] program and in our Cultural, Social and Political Thought [CSPT] interdisciplinary M.A. and Ph.D. program. There will also be the opportunity to supervise M.A. students in the WGST program. The successful candidate will be assigned to a disciplinarily appropriate home department in the Faculty of Arts and Science. The start date of the appointment is July 1, 2025, subject to budgetary approval. The University of Lethbridge offers competitive benefits; the annual hiring salary will range from $79,132-$94,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Women and Gender Studies or a related field. While the discipline and area of expertise are open, applications from scholars whose research focuses on feminist approaches to disaster, migration, and borders or popular culture would be particularly welcome. Candidates must demonstrate a research program that can attract external funding, have experience in teaching Women and Gender Studies courses, and interest in community engagement and student mentorship at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
In addition to their home Department, the successful candidate will be part of the newly established Centre for Feminist Research [CFR]. We are currently hiring a Director of the CFR who will work to facilitate innovative interdisciplinary feminist scholarship by emerging and established scholars across campus. The aim of the CFR is to generate a hub for feminist research at the University of Lethbridge. Providing University of Lethbridge undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty who have a feminist research program and/or praxis with a collaborative and supportive home, the CFR will elevate feminist scholarship on campus and engage and work meaningfully in partnership with local, regional, and global communities outside of academia.
