Director of the Psychoeducational and Counselling Clinic

The Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology is inviting applications for a full-time position as a member of the Ranked Contract Academic Staff (non-tenure track) at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical) or Associate Professor (Clinical). This will be a three-year, renewable appointment with an expected start date of August 2025.

The position will serve as the Director of the McGill Psychoeducational and Counselling Clinic, a training facility designed to meet the tri-partite functions of clinical training, research, and community service. The operation of the Clinic, including policies and procedures, is described in its manual (https://www.mcgill.ca/edu-ecp/students/clinicresources#manual). The Clinic is an essential component of both the School/Applied Child Psychology and Counselling Psychology programs (both are accredited by the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec and the Canadian Psychological Association).

The successful applicant will provide leadership and administrative oversight of daily operations and fiscal management of the Clinic; will ensure liaison and networking with the local community to advertise services offered at the Clinic; will conduct both theoretical and applied teaching and clinical supervision of psychologists in training; will coordinate the Clinic’s activities with the Clinic’s administrative support staff, clinical supervisors, course instructors; will liaise with the Assessment Materials Resource Center and with the governance of the Counselling Psychology and School/Applied Child Psychology programs; will create and implement Clinic policies and procedures. The Clinic Director may be invited to collaborate on research projects in the areas of mental health, training, and supervision. We are seeking an applicant who would be able to support the expansion of our Clinic.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Clinical, School or Counselling Psychology, with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience, as well as experience in the teaching and clinical supervision of graduate students within a university and community setting. An active license with the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec is required. Management experience is an asset.

Applicants must have scholarly credentials commensurate with the rank to which they have applied and have a record of successful teaching. The rank and remuneration will be set according to qualifications and experience.
