Medicine - Clinician Teacher (Respirology/Sleep Medicine)

The Department of Medicine, Division of Respirology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, at Western University and London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre are seeking a Full-time Respirologist with expertise in Sleep Medicine.
The Division of Respirology currently has 12 members and is well-recognized and respected both nationally and internationally. The Division’s physicians provide specialty and sub-specialty care for a large catchment area in southwestern Ontario. The Division has a fully certified Royal College Subspecialty Training Program in the Department of Medicine in addition to a fully certified Royal College Subspecialty Area of Focused Competency in Sleep Medicine.
The successful candidate is expected to have completed training in adult Respirology and subspecialty training in Sleep Medicine. Applicants should be certified, or eligible for certification, in Respirology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent. Candidates must have an MD, or equivalent, and must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) in the province of Ontario. The successful candidate will hold a limited term academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, or a continuing academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will join a busy academic practice will be expected to a contributing member towards the Division’s mission of excellence in patient care, education and research. The successful candidate will also have a commitment to and demonstrated aptitude for teaching, and will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to supervise graduate trainees with a specific focus on Respiratory and Sleep Medicine

Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance in teaching, research, health care leadership, qualifications (including subspecialty and enhanced training), experience and interpersonal skills.
Compensation for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be primarily composed of a competitive alternative funding and payment plan, and academic salary.
