Child and Youth Studies - (2) Assistant Professors (2-year Term)

The Department of Child and Youth Studies at Trent University Durham GTA invites applications for a two-year full-time limited term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. There are two positions available. The appointments commence August 1st, 2025 and end August 15th, 2027. There will be an expectation to teach during the summer term in addition to teaching in the regular academic sessions. Please note that these positions are subject to budgetary approval.

Priority will be given to applicants who have completed a PhD degree in Child and Youth Studies or a closely related field. The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses in Child and Youth Studies, specifically in the following content areas: 

Position 1: examining links between art and play on child development, introduction to child and youth studies courses, child’s rights and seminar courses related to current child and youth special topics.

Position 2: research methods, introduction to child and youth studies, child’s rights, immigration, and special topics courses related to child and youth issues/debates.
