Kinesiology - Assistant Professor (Psychological Basis in Kinesiology)

The School of Kinesiology in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Western University promotes the benefits of physical activity to society by providing a multidisciplinary approach to discovery, dissemination, and application of related knowledge and outcomes. We invite applications for a probationary (tenure-track) position at the rank of Assistant Professor with expertise in the psychological basis of kinesiology. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing knowledge in areas such as physical activity, exercise, sport, and/or sedentary behaviour, and is expected to engage in high-quality research and teaching within these domains. The successful candidate will contribute to and expand the School’s collaborative research agenda by building on existing strengths. They will teach current courses, develop new offerings that enhance the curriculum, and supervise graduate students. The ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker who has experience in interdisciplinary environments, excellence in research, and a demonstrated potential to secure external research funding and produce high quality scholarly/creative outputs aligned with one or more of the Faculty of Health Sciences Research Centres/Groups.

Candidates must hold a PhD in Kinesiology, or a related field at the start of the appointment. Post-doctoral research experience is considered an asset. The impact of certain circumstances that may legitimately affect a candidate’s teaching and research will be given careful consideration. Candidates are encouraged to provide any relevant information about their experience and/or career interruptions.

The effective date of the appointment is January 1, 2026, or as negotiated. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
