The University of Windsor’s Faculty of Nursing seeks applications for for a Permanence-track Learning Specialist, Ancillary Academic Staff I, commencing as early as January 1, 2026. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Graduates from the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Windsor are highly respected professionals both locally and globally. We continually strive to build on our strengths to create and maintain teaching excellence within a research-intensive environment. Since 2001, the Faculty of Nursing has partnered with the Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology in Windsor, Chatham (St. Clair College) and Sarnia (Lambton College) to deliver a collaborative nursing program (BScN). The MScN and MN graduate programs offer education to students interested in the fields of leadership and advanced clinical practice, including the Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program. Our expanded graduate offerings include a PhD in Nursing. The Ontario Internationally Educated Nurses competency-bridging program of study is offered as part of a consortium. The incumbent for this position will be responsible for preparing and administering the experiential and simulated laboratory programs for undergraduate and graduate nursing students, as well as those geared towards other groups of learners such as nurses, physicians, and medical students. The incumbent will have the responsibility to teach diverse student populations within the Faculty of Nursing. The successful candidate will report to the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and will work closely with other faculty and staff members in the Faculty.

The successful candidate will have:  current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario; a graduate degree in Nursing;  at least five years of clinical and/or nursing teaching experience, which includes supervision and teaching of others; experience with mentorship of colleagues; three to five years experience working in a simulation lab and operation simulation equipment; expertise in clinical education and clinical practicum education needs of students and sessional instructors; experience in and a commitment to the teaching of undergraduate nursing courses; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated administration and leadership skills; excellent organization skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple priorities and demands, and the ability to work effectively with students, instructors, faculty, staff and external partners/stakeholders in a professional, pleasant, and supportive manner.

Compensation:
The salary range for the rank is outlined in Article A Table A.1 of the current Collective Agreement with the Windsor University Faculty Association. The compensation offered to the successful candidate will take into consideration the existing salary structure.  A full range of benefits including a pension plan and medical benefits are available to the successful candidate.
