Position Overview:
Alexander College is seeking a policy consultant to assist with a review of institutional policies. This is a part-time temporary role for an independent contractor.

Experience and qualifications:
The successful applicant will have:

  • A minimum of ten years administrative experience in the Canadian post-secondary system at director/dean levels or above.
  • Administrative experience must demonstrably include developing, reviewing, and advising on institutional policies.
  • A solid understanding of the regulatory environment in British Columbia for private degree-granting institutions.
  • Familiarity with the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills Quality Assessment Process and Criteria (2024).
  • A relevant graduate degree at the Master’s level or above.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departmental teams and to present to senior-executive and board leaders.

Term: Fall 2025 (approximately September through December). Precise dates to be determined.

Location and Hours:
The contractor will primarily carry out work on-site at Alexander College’s Burnaby campus. Occasional visits to Alexander College’s Vancouver campus may be necessary depending on project needs. Some remote work may be possible, subject to mutual agreement and project requirements.

The estimated workload is approximately 15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling unless otherwise required for specific deliverables.
