Athabasca University's Faculty of Business is recruiting for a full-time permanent Assistant/Associate Professor, Human Resource Management (HRM).
About the Faculty:
The Faculty of Business is a major AACSB-accredited business school in Canada, offering programs for undergraduate and graduate students studying at the Bachelor, Master's, Postgraduate Diploma, and Doctoral levels. The Faculty of Business is dedicated to supporting students, the business community, and society by providing internationally recognized, outstanding, innovative, challenging, and accessible business education.
The Position:
The Assistant or Associate Professor will be expected to teach, coordinate, revise and write a variety of HRM courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
In addition to having an ability to teach across a variety of topics in HRM, a candidate applying for an Assistant Professor will show the potential to conduct and publish research in the field of HRM. A candidate applying for an Associate Professor will demonstrate having a strong research program and record of publishing in a HRM related field.
Industry or management experience to enable the connection of theory to practice in learning environments will be considered an asset at both the Assistant and Associate Professor levels.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should have a doctorate in Human Resource Management or related area, or be near completion (i.e., ABD).
- Candidates applying for Assistant Professor need to show a combination of teaching and research potential. Candidates applying for Associate Professor need to demonstrate teaching excellence and a successful publishing record.
- Industry or management experience and the ability to connect theory to practice in a learning environment will be considered an asset for this position.
- The candidate will be expected to contribute to a collegial culture.
- The candidate will have a keen interest in, and commitment to, teaching and working in an online environment. Previous online teaching experience will be considered an asset.
- A candidate that holds an HR professional designation, such as CPHR should acknowledge that in their application.
