Trent University School of Education invites applications for limited-term appointment (LTA) with a start date of January 2, 2026. The position is subject to final budgetary approval. Successful candidates will teach a combination of curriculum and foundations courses (Primary/Junior and/or Intermediate Senior) including Indigenous & Environmental Sustainability Education (IES) (Primary/Junior and Intermediate/Senior). The position will include providing mentoring and professional development support for pre-service teachers in the Indigenous Bachelor of Education (IBEP) program, as well as other duties as agreed upon with the Dean. The successful candidate will also serve as a Faculty Advisor (practicum).
The School of Education seeks applicants with strong scholarship and demonstrated excellence in teaching (at the Primary/Junior, Intermediate/Senior, and/or university level). A minimum of an M.Ed. in Indigenous Education or closely related discipline is required. We welcome applicants who are committed to an integrative approach and to a vision of teaching and learning guided by ecological and social justice. Long-term ethical engagement with Indigenous communities, organizations, and institutions—and a demonstrated commitment to consensus-building relationships—is fundamental to the School of Education. Applicants should arrange for at least one letter of reference to specifically address their Indigenous community engagement.

Our education program continually renews itself and its practices through critical reflection and creative, community–based responses.
