Position Description
The Department of Adult Education invites applications for a probationary, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The start date is as early as July 1, 2026. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The Department of Adult Education at St. Francis Xavier University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, commencing July 1, 2026. Considered a leader in adult education, the Department offers a highly recognized and regarded Master of Adult Education and actively contributes to the Faculty’s PhD programming. Our degree pathways attract mid-career professionals working with adults in a broad range of educational contexts. This faculty position will include teaching, research and service, as well as ongoing supervision of graduate adult education students, including both master’s and doctoral. The successful candidate will have a completed, earned doctorate in Adult Education or a related field, experience with adult learners in an educational setting (community, professional, or higher education), teaching experience with both synchronous and asynchronous online learning, and will be able to demonstrate evidence of an emerging or established research program. Expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas will be considered an asset: health and adult learning, workplace learning, and/or community development. The Department is seeking candidates who are committed to contributing to StFX’s priorities of equity, diversity, and inclusion. This position is situated in a highly collaborative faculty environment.
