‘Record spike’ in immigrants leaving Canada in recent years, study says
Canada saw record numbers of immigrants leave Canada between 2016 and 2019. A new study urges Canada to do more to maintain these newcomers. The study said in an average of 0.9 per cent of immigrants end up leaving Canada, but that number rised to 1.18 per cent in 2019, in other words, 60,000 people left the country.

Concordia says out-of-province tuition hikes could cost the university $62 million
In an email, President and Vice-Chancellor of Concordia University said the Quebec government’s tuition hike for out-of-province students will cost the school $62 million annually. He said it undermines their ability to be a school welcoming to students from around the country and around the world.

Trent University reaches new tentative deal with union for part-time faculty
CUPE 3908-1, representing 377 part-time instructors at Trent University have reached a tentative deal with the school on a new collective agreement. The settlement is not up to ratification by the school’s board of governors.

Kingston police are investigating allegations of a Queen’s University student dressing in ‘Hamas’ attire and attended a party threatening Jewish party-goers. This incident arised over the Halloween weekend on Friday night. The university has also launched their own investigation.
