U. Rashid Sumaila is a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Interdisciplinary Ocean and Fisheries Economics, and Professor at the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries and the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs at the University of British Columbia. He is a Fellow of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Doctoral Program. Lily-Cannelle Mathieu is a PhD candidate in the Department of Anthropology, McGill University. She is Pierre Elliott Trudeau and a Vanier-SSHRC Doctoral Scholar. Catherine Stratton is a PhD candidate in the Division of Epidemiology, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. She is a Pierre Elliott Trudeau and a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Doctoral Scholar.
