Help shape Nova Scotia’s future as we build the province’s economy and quality of life through education and innovation.

Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) delivers inclusive, accessible education across 14 campuses and serves more than 20,000 learners each year. Through applied, industry-connected learning and deep partnerships with communities and employers across the province, NSCC is central to developing a skilled workforce and advancing economic growth. With an unwavering focus on student success, the College connects learners to meaningful careers and helps communities thrive.

NSCC is seeking an inspiring, strategic and relationship-oriented leader to serve as its next President. This is a significant leadership opportunity to guide a large, multi-campus institution at the center of Nova Scotia’s workforce and economic future. As labour market needs and expectations of post-secondary education continue to evolve, NSCC is well positioned to expand its impact, including through initiatives such as the Institute of Skilled Trades and strengthened partnerships within industry.

Reporting to NSCC’s Board of Governors, the President provides executive leadership to a province-wide organization, working closely with the Board to support effective governance and advance the College’s strategic priorities. The President shapes institutional direction and ensures these priorities translate into meaningful outcomes for learners, employers, and the provincial economy. A visible, credible, and accessible ambassador, they foster a culture of trust, collaboration and alignment across the College while building relationships with students, employees and partners.

The successful candidate will bring senior executive experience leading at scale in large, complex organizations, coupled with a strong record of strategic leadership and impact. Experience in post-secondary, workforce development, applied education, or a related sector is an asset. Recognized for leading through change and achieving results in dynamic environments, they demonstrate a clear commitment to student success, academic quality and operational excellence, along with the credibility to build effective relationships across industry, communities, and government.

The President demonstrates cultural competence and has proven equity leadership abilities, recognizing culturally relevant and accessible supports as essential to student success. They understand, anticipate and remove barriers to foster positive learning environments to allow for full participation and equitable outcomes for equity-deserving groups.

An inclusive people leader, the President is skilled in creating alignment and supporting high-performing teams and brings sound judgment in financial and operational stewardship. They bring experience leading within multi-site or similarly complex environments, including unionized settings. The President has exceptional communication and presentation skills along with a graduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and senior leadership experience.
