Politics and Artificial Intelligence - Assistant Professor

Day-to-day responsibilities
Through your undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and your research activities, you will contribute to the faculty’s pursuit of excellence. Furthermore, you will promote your discipline and actively participate in the daily activities of a renowned institution. As such, you will:

• Teach undergraduate and graduate students about the governance or politics of Artificial Intelligence;
• Supervise graduate students;
• Develop a high-level research program in political science;
• Provide service to a diverse department and contribute to the university's outreach through conferences, publications, and scholarly activities.

Qualifications

• Hold a doctorate (Ph.D.) in political science or a related field. Applications from those currently completing their dissertation will also be considered;
• Have an excellent publication record in the governance or politics of Artificial Intelligence;
• Demonstrate mastery of AI algorithmic methods and tools—such as natural language processing and machine learning;
• Demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality university teaching in political science;
• Demonstrate the potential to supervise graduate students;
• Demonstrate the potential to develop internal, national, and international collaborations;
• Have adequate proficiency of the French language or be committed to learning it once hired, through the Université de Montréal’s French language support program, in accordance with the Université de Montréal language policy.
